Hospital to Add More Clinical Departments by Next Month
The University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital is planning to open more medical departments next month. The new additions will include departments in the emergency and oncology section. Since October twelve departments of the hospital were operational including medical, surgical, gynecological, general practice, pediatric, dental and urinary.
Originally the hospital planned to open its emergency department before Spring Festival but had to move it because some of the equipment was not yet ready. Around 500 patients visit the outgoing department everyday on average, and by the end of the year the hospital hopes to see 3,000 patients and offers 800 beds in the inpatient department.
In other news, a tumor center is now planning to offer a one stop treatment. The center will prevent cancer patients from transferring to different departments for treatment. This is such as case in many public hospitals on the Chinese mainland. The center will also offer follow up services as well.
