Measures Taken to Keep Construction Fences Away from Businesses

Measures Taken to Keep Construction Fences Away from BusinessesThe contractor for Metro Line 7 is taking measures in keeping the construction fences around the planned metro station away from retail businesses found along Huaqiang Road North.

As of today, a 930 meter section of the road between Hongli Road and Shennan Boulevard is closed for at least 33 months to give way to the Metro construction. To help ensure the flow of pedestrians and other products, fences surrounding the construction areas will be 10 meters away from stores and shops during the first phase of the construction that is said to last for 11 months. These fences will then be pushed back 2 to 4 meters for the remaining 22 months and pedestrian space will be back to normal by the end of 2015.

The sub district office in Huaqiangbei is also implementing a special supportive measure that allows business along the affected road to place print ads on the construction fences in order to attract customers.

30 bus routes will be shifted to Huafa Road North and Huafa Road, and 150 traffic aids will be assigned to the areas to help guide traffic.
