Samsung to Build Research and Development Center in Shenzhen
Samsung will be establishing a telecommunication equipment research institute at the Shenzhen Hi-Tech Industrial Park in Nanshan. The decision was made based on an agreement that was signed by the multinational electronics company and a Shenzhen investment promotion department.
The research institute will be focusing on the research and development of base station equipment and state of the art telecommunications technologies. The company research and development was usually conducted at the company’s headquarters in South Korea. The R&D center will also integrate functions of production, sales and design and will have more than a thousand employees.
Chen Biao the city’s vice mayor said that the institute’s establishment is advancing the development of the city’s telecommunication equipment industry, making the industry more international in terms of professionalism and marketing management. The center will be dedicated to improving telecommunications equipment professionals in Shenzhen.
Also Samsung will be considering establishing a manufacturing base for building advanced telecommunications equipment.
