International School Organizes Special Event for Disabled Children
A special event was organized by international teachers along with parents and students at the Buena Vista Concordia International School in Bao’an were in children with disabilities practically enjoyed themselves in doing different activities.
Children from the Promise Land and Sunshine Academy were invited to join other children in games and activities that were led by foreign teachers and local parents. The two schools are operated by charities and houses and care for children, orphans and young adults with mental disability. The charity event raised around 35,000 yuan for the two schools through donations, admission ticket sales and concessions and craft.
This is the first annual fair that was held on campus that featured a 5 kilometer walking race for adults and a 1 kilometer fun run for the kids. The event also had various foods, games and hand made accessories stalls.
BCIS Head Kevin Brockberg said that the event was a great way to help the children feel that they are part of a community and enjoy a fun filled day as well. He said that it was good to see the children enjoying themselves and along with the fact that the event have exceeded their expectations thanks to the charity organization that shared their facilities.
