Program Allows Drivers to Take License Examinations Faster

Program Allows Drivers to Take License Examinations FasterChinese drivers along with expat drivers who either lost their license due to penalties or expiration can now take a faster and simpler testing program that will allow them to be issued or renew their licenses in just three days compared to the previous waiting time of two weeks.

Interested parties can make reservations online at the official website of the Shenzhen traffic police Xili Vehicle Registration and Administration Office. If they cannot make reservations online they can go directly to the office from 9 am and 11 am then from 2 pm and 4 pm during weekdays to take the license tests.

For expat applying for a Chinese license the y need to bring their passport, residence permit, driver’s license and ID photos with Chinese language translations. Expats planning to change their foreign license into a Chinese version must take a 45 minute exam that is available in eight languages. When a person fails the exam twice they can take it again after ten working days.

Authorities are saying that around 60,000 drivers will be benefitting from the instant examination which is a first in the Guangdong province. Before, to get a new or to renew a driver’s license one had to go to the vehicle administration office at least three times and wait for police availability to take an exam along with several administrative steps.
