Cosmetic Brand Gains Popularity After Being Included in Gift Package
Pehchaolin a shanghai based cosmetics company that was established in 1931 is gaining popularity in Shenzhen after some of its products were given as a gift to Tanzania by China’s first lady Peng Liyuan after doing her first with the country’s women development foundation.
The company has confirmed that its products were indeed included among the gifts that Peng gave but didn’t identify which of their products were included in the gift package. And because of these the brand immediately became a hot item among Shenzhen consumers. The company’s products were placed in prominent places among the shelves of big supermarkets across the city. Sales representatives of these supermarkets said that customers are constantly asking about the Pehchaolin and since then the sales have increased.
Most of the customers are asking for gift products that contain the products, others are even asking for the same package that the first lady gave to the Tanzania delegates. And the product is also fast gaining popularity among young customers who recently started to ask about the product. One Shenzhen woman also said that she usually uses internationally known cosmetic brands, and because of the diplomatic gift of Peng she started to ask and try the product as well.
Pehchaolin products are hard to find in big department stores, but not because of the brand’s popularity. Sales of the products in China have regularly increased by 30 percent per year, but domestic brands only allow small profits for retailers.
