Shenzhen Advances One Spot in Most Attractive Cities in China
The International Talent magazine has ranked Shenzhen No. 3 on their list of China’s most attractive cities for foreigners in 2012. The selection was done from September to December through the participation of 175,400 voting foreigners. 34 member panel of expatriates consisting of professionals and Friendship Award winners that are included in the national experts program were in charge of selecting the final cities.
Shanghai and Beijing still takes the top two spots respectively in the 2012 rankings. Other Chinese cities that made the list are Kunming, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Qingdao, Xiamen and Tianjin. Study showed that there were about a million foreigners came to China to seek employment last year showing an 8 percent increase compared to 2011, and most of the foreigners are saying that the want to settle in the country with their families.
Most visitors sees Beijing as the most comfortable city to live in especially after improvements were made for the Olympics but the sustained air pollution is now forcing several foreigners to move out, while some are hesitant in moving in.
Both Shanghai and Beijing scored low in categories that are related to nature and the environment. Also reports shows that most of the foreign professionals are working and living in China’s economically developed areas especially near the Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta and the Bohai economic zone.
