Food Businesses in Shenzhen to be Placed Under Strict Supervision
Producers and operators of all food related businesses in Shenzhen will be under strict supervision using food safety ratings. Unqualified operators will be blacklisted of up to five years is they are found to violate any of the new food safety regulations. Starting today until May 1st the Shenzhen Municipal Market Supervision Administration is accepting public opinions.
Restaurants, canteens and catering services and other businesses that are involved in the processing, manufacturing and distribution of food or food additives and food related enterprises will be subjected to a food safety rating under the new regulations. These rating along with related credibility reports will include food producers and the business operator’s information, their food safety record and other information.
Basic information ranges from business registrations, administrative licenses and organization codes. Violations made by these food producers and operators such as test samples that fails meeting safety standards, license penalties and license revocations will be published online and will be blacklisted. Positive achievements, certifications and food awards are announced on the inline honor board along with the information of food safety supervisors and suppliers grades will also be published for the public to view.
Operators that are found to have criminal responsibility for their illegal behaviors will be placed on the blacklist along with the information of their violation. Their information will be posted for up to five years and the information will be marked as permanent record with market supervision authorities.
