Hospital Management Center to Lower Fees of Public Hospitals
During the opening ceremony of the new Shenzhen Hospital Management Center announced that all public hospitals in the city will be reducing their fees for all standard medical checks and will increase treatment fees. Along with the changes in fees the center will also build a unified platform for all public hospitals purchases of its medical equipment and consumables.
A unified and independent charging system of medical examinations will then be established and with this move hospitals will not gain any profits from medical examinations and at the same time patients will be able to pay lower fees for unnecessary checks at hospitals. The new management center is a key part of the city medical reform plans and was created to facilitate and to introduce the unified management system.
As of the moment eleven public hospitals along with Shenzhen Geratology Research Institute are under supervision of the new center that has a 15 member council. The commission of health, population and family planning will now manage hospital opening and will no longer be in charge of management or operations of any hospitals. With this changes an anti corruption system will also be implemented and harsher punishments will be given to medical workers caught taking additional money from patients.
