White Horse Laboratories Holiday Announcement
On July 1, 1997, England’s lease on Hong Kong expired and was returned to Chinese rule. China refers to this event as “Reunification Day” while others call it ”The Handover”.
England ruled Hong Kong since 1842, expanding it in 1860 to include the Kowloon peninsula and again in 1898 to include the New Territories. During it’s growth and development from 1842, Hong Kong grew from a barely inhabited rock to around 20 million people with global financial significance.
