Xiamen-Shenzhen High Speed Railway to be Completed This Year
Xincheng Railway Station will be the first station in the city to receive inbound passengers in the Xiamen-Shenzhen high speed railway which is scheduled to be completed and open to the public this year.
So far rail work in the city area is already complete and residents whose hometowns are located in eastern Guangdong Province can now take high speed trains in traveling for the Spring Festival next year. the Xincheng Railway Station is found in the center of Pinghsan New Area and is about 10 kilometers from Longgang CBD and is considered as the important transportation hub east of the city. Four roads that surround the station namely Zhangqian Road, Hele Road, Pinglan Road and Danzi Road West are either renovated or expanded and during the upgrading period drivers are advised to use Shenshan Road until October.
The Shenzhen transportation commission the 47 hectare station including two public squares one in the north and one in the south with a total of more than 32,000 square meters. The 502 kilometer long Xiamen-Shenzhen high speed railway is designed to handle speed of up to 250 kilometers per hour and will shorten travel time between the two cities down to three hours.
