New Railway Line to Benefit People Traveling Between Shenzhen and Hong Kong
By the end of the year, high speed trains at the Shenzhen North Station are expected to extend to Futian Station. Construction of the station’s infrastructure in almost complete and interior projects is going well.
Around 150,000 square meters, the three story underground station is one of the five stations of the high speed railway line between Guangzhou and West Kowloon in Hong Kong. Once the Shenzhen-Hong Kong section opens in 2015, passengers can now take the high speed rail from the city’s central business district in Futian and reach West Kowloon Station in fifteen minutes. This station will be the only underground train station in the central business district in the mainland.
The station’s first floor which is the closest to the surface provides transfers to Metro trains and buses, the second and third floor of the station will be the train waiting areas and platforms. The station will be the largest underground high speed rail station in Asia consisting of four platform and eight rail tracks.
The new station will benefit people especially business people traveling between Shenzhen and Hong Kong and vice versa.
