Guangzhou the Third Mainland City to Offer Visa Free Entry

Guangzhou the Third Mainland City to Offer Visa Free EntryGuangzhou will be the third mainland city after Shanghai and Beijing to offer a 72 hour transit for travelers from dozens of countries. The short term visa plan was announced last Tuesday by provincial authorities describing it as a boon for tourism around the Pearl River Delta.

Starting August 1, countries those are eligible for the three day visa includes travelers from 31 countries in Europe, six countries in America and six in Asia. Eligible travelers arriving at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport are allowed to stay for three days without a visa as long as they stay in Guangdong Province. Travelers must have an outbound ticket to a third country to avail the visa, those returning to their country of origin, or arriving by train, ferry or bus from Hong Kong and Macao are not eligible.

Once the new policy is introduced the city is expecting more foreign visitors coming in to see the city. In other news Shenzhen started to allow foreign visitors to enter and stay in the city for 144 hours without a visa as long as they enter the mainland through Hong Kong or Macao. It is also expected that more Chinese cities will be joining in introducing visa free visits.
