Online Business Registration to Start on Thursday
Starting this coming Thursday, Shenzhen will start offering an online business registration services and will be the first city of offer such services. The online registration service is intended to increase the government efficiency along with simplifying procedures for residents and companies.
Previously applicants had to go to the city registration hall to submit their application documents before receiving their business licenses once the documents are reviewed and signed. Once the online registration starts all of these procedures ranging from submitting of applications, reviews, issuance and filing of business licenses will be done online. Applicants will receive a digital business license and can also request for a free paper license from the registration department.
The digital licenses can be registered and checked online through the department’s official website. This will help companies in conducting their online operations and at the same time expand their e-commerce. Applicants can also apply for a digital certificate to help protect their information. These certificates are just like digital keys that are used for online banking which can help companies in making tax declarations and opening bank accounts.
Ever since Shenzhen began implementing business registration reforms more than 160,000 businesses have registered. As of now there are more than 1.14 million registered businesses in the city which is an increase of 29 percent compared to last year.
