When the medical team is operational residents can call the hotline to request for a professional transfer vehicle to help transfer patients.

The Shenzhen Emergency Center will be in charge of coordinating transfer vehicles, supervise operations, control service quality and provide training. All other organizations that provide any transfer services must register at the emergency center. A regulation on transfer services standards and policies were also issued by the city health, population and family planning commission. A professional non-emergency medical transfer system is also being planning and as of the moment eight private and 14 public hospitals have already applied to register for the service.

These transfer vehicles will not be ambulances in operation, instead they are special vehicles that are prepared especially for the professional non emergency medical transfers. Based on the policy, the transfer organizations must first evaluate the patient’s condition carefully before making any transfer plans. The proper medical materials must be prepared first along with signed agreements of the patient’s family. Trained medical staff is on hand to accompany patients to adjust treatment of do first aid in case of an emergency.
