City Keeps Close Watch on Cases of Bird Flu Outbreak
In a statement released by the center for disease control and prevention, there are no suspected cases of the H7N9 bird flu virus have been detected in the city so far. The center is still to release any emergency plans to deal with any virus outbreak, but is keep close watch on the situation.
In April, the center has started to monitor the local flu and unidentified pneumonia monitoring systems and hospitals along with clinics were given orders to closely monitor flu patients.Sample were taken from several flu patients that were seen suffering from unusual flu symptoms were sent to the hospital and patients thought suffering from the bird flu virus can get free checkups at major hospitals in the city.
Residents are advised to stay away from poultry markets and to wash their hands after handling poultry after coming from the markets. Residents who think they are suffering from symptoms such as fever, coughing and pneumonia. They should also inform their doctors if they came in contact with poultry in the past weeks.
