Computer System Failure Affects Drivers
The recent breakdowns of the computer systems used by the traffic police that deals with traffic offenses, drivers have started to complain and thousands of drivers were reported to be affected. Based on the current rules, drivers were asked to visit any of the 17 service centers affiliated by the traffic bureau to handle their traffic offenses.
Most drivers had to wait for a long time at these service centers, and when their turn came the computer system fails thus their traffic offenses is not resolved for that day and they need to come back wasting time and money. Traffic police stated that they are trying to fix the problem but once it breaks down they find it hard to fix the unstable computer system since it is connected to the larger provincial system.
Everyday an average of 5,000 drivers is visiting the service centers to have their traffic offenses fixed and 10,000 of these drivers will not be able to fix their offenses once the computer system fails or breakdowns.
Drivers were asked to call a hotline number to confirm when the computer system is working or online before going to service centers.
