Policy Changes Allows Residents to Get Blood Transfusion Outside the City
Under a proposed policy changes, people that donated blood in Shenzhen will be able to get free blood transfusion at clinics outside the city is now open for public opinion. As of the moment blood donors can get free transfusion in the city.
The changes in the policy will enable the donors to get transfusion expenses outside of the city refunded after they provide donation certificates together with their bills at blood stations in Shenzhen. The proposed policy changes will also allow citizens above 18 to donate blood. In 1995 regulations on donations stated that only citizens between 18 and 55 can donate blood. The donors can use blood in local clinics free of charge for life. The donor’s parents, children and life partners don’t have to pay for them blood uses in clinics as well.
If the donor’s blood is not qualified, they can still get free blood at clinics only up to the amount donated. Donors that donated blood more than 200 times or have donated whole blood for donations more than 30 times will be receiving special awards from the city government. Those who collect or trade blood with the required licenses and approval will face fines of up to 100,000 yuan.
