Proposed Second Airport is for General Aviation and not for Commercial Use
The proposed second airport that the city is planning to build is for general aviation rather than for commercial flights. General aviation refers to civil aviation operations other than scheduled air services and for nonscheduled air transport operations for hire or remuneration.
General aviation also covers the range of activities including flight training, medical rescues, agricultural aviation and aircraft maintenance and manufacturing. The airport for general aviation is different from what experts have suggested about building the new airport in Pingshan.
Although building the second airport for public and commercial air services is not yet as needed since the new Terminal C at the Shenzhen International Airport is not yet open. By opening a new general aviation airport will offer more chartered flights services that can service cities along the Pearl River Delta.
