Commission Gives List of Ten Most Traffic Congested Roads in the City
After doing a week of traffic monitoring the city transport commission released a list of the ten most congested roads in Shenzhen. the average speed of vehicles using these roads were recorded at 8 kilometers per hour during rush hours. Vehicles on Yijing Road in Luohu moved even slower at 5.6 kilometers an hour.
Here is the list of the ten most congested roads in the city during rush hours, Yijing Road in Luohu, Sungang Road East in Luohu, Lianhua Road in Futian District, Dongbin Road in Nanshan District, Shennan Road East in Luohu, Donghuan Road 2 in Longhua New Area, Jihua Road in Longgang District, Xinzhou Road in Futian Meiling Road in Longhua and Fuqiang Road in Futian. Vehicles at Luhou and Futian area has the slowest speeds on average during morning rush hours is at 29 kilometers and hour and 25 kilometers an hour during the evening rush hour.
The start of the new school year also contributed to more traffic jams in especially on roads found near schools. Examples are Shennan Boulevard, Nanhai Boulevard and Xuefu Road that is located near Shenzhen University. Keyuan Road South nearby Nanshan Foreign Language School, Hongli Road, Shangbu Road Central, Yannan Road and Zhenxing Road at the Shenzhen Foreign Languages School, Hongling Road Central, Shennan Road East, Sungang Road Central which is near Shenzhen Middle School all saw traffic jams during the week.
To avoid traffic jams drivers are asked to avoid driving during 7:30 to 8:30 am morning rush hours and at 6:30 to 7:30 pm evening rush hours. Residents are asked to use different routes or use public transportation.
Heavy traffic was also noted at Meilin, Shawan, Buji and Nantou checkpoints due to the ongoing Mero projects and road work being done in the area.
