Shenzhen to Build a City of Parks
Shenzhen ranks No.1 in having the most number of parks in China, as of the moment the city has 19 country level parks including Maluan Mountain, Yangtai Mountain park, and Tanglang Mountain. Because of this the city will be built a new park to popularize agricultural science in Futian District on prime land of over 400,000 square meters.
In the span of 30 years the amount of parks in Shenzhen grew from 5 to 841, from small community to the large parks such as Shenzhen Bay Park which covers more than 120 hectares and 10 kilometers long at the coast. And in the past ten years that number grew fivefold as more parks were built during the 2011 Universiade which created 140 new parks that were opened to the public.
Based on the park construction plans a new park will be created which will be called the City of Parks that will have links between other parks using greenways to give residents easy access. To reach this goal the city will add 400 more parks in the next eight years.
The new park will be located at the northwest of the intersection of Xiangmihu Road and Hongli Road West that is said to believe to be the most valuable public areas in the district since housing prices have soared over 50,000 yuan per square meter.
