Xiamen-Shenzhen Rail Line to Open New Terminal Soon
The new local terminal of the Xiamen-Shenzhen high speed rail line will be completed by September 20 and test are scheduled this October. Representative of the 17th branch of China Railway Construction said that the Shenzhen Xincheng Railway Station line and steel structure is almost complete and workers are doing the station’s s floor and ceilings.
Once the station is complete, the high speed rail will be put to the test in October to prepare the station’s opening of the rail line before the year ends. The Xincheng station is located in central Pingshan New Area which is 10 kilometers away from Longgang CBD and has four platforms and eight tracks. The south square of the station will give passengers access to a terminal planned for the future Metro Line 12 while the north square will provide services for tourism buses, city buses and private vehicles.
The city transportation commission also reported that the progress of four roads that provides access to Xincheng Station will be slightly delayed due to land requisition and relocation disputes. The 50 kilometer Xiamen-Shenzhen high speed railway will be linking two special economic zones and will be playing an important part of the coastal railway network of China.
The line will be passing through 20 stations in eight cities, 13 of this stations pass through Guangdong Province alone. The line will be traveling at a speed of 250 kilometers an hour and is will cut travel time from Shenzhen to Xiamen down to three hours.
