City to Offer Free Cultural Performances at the Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park
In the coming weeks eight private art groups in Shenzhen will be performing 10 performances for free at the Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park in Futian. Performances will range from folk dances, Beijing opera, musical concerts, dance and song shows and children shows as well.
The Luohu based Dongfang Baihe Song and Dance Ensemble started performing with a traditional Hakka style dance show last Saturday then will perform every Saturday at 7 pm until November 2. These free performances will help promote and introduce private art troupes to city residents and hopefully increase the amount of local cultural activities. These will also be the bureau’s second promotion of local art troupes. Their first promotion was during last year’s Spring Festival in February wherein they invited six local art troupes to perform.
The past performances was watched by nearly 10,000 visitors and was well received, so the bureau decided to invite more art troupes this year as they predicted more visitors to come during the National Day holidays in October.
Other performances will be done by Tianyue Ballad Singing Troupe, which will sing folk songs and Chinese operas, folk dance show performed by South China Entertainment & Cultural Development Co. featuring classic Chinese folk songs from the well-known movie Liu Sanjie. Yantian District’s Huilin Art Troupe will give a dance show featuring traditional customs of the Yi ethnic group and the Beijing opera show will be given by Zhenpeng Beijing Opera House.
