Hospital Management Center to Keep Several Simple Clinics Open
Despite recent reports and questions about patient safety the city hospital management center will keep the quick window services open since these services have helped patients get simple medicines and treatments at most city level public hospitals. Four out of the 11 city level public hospitals are not offering such services which is known as simple clinics
Shenzhen No. 3 People’s Hospital and Kang-ning Hospital are the two out of the four hospital that doesn’t offer simple clinics since the usually treat patients that have infectious diseases and those with suffering from mental illness. Shenzhen People’s Hospital closed its simple clinic due to safety concerns while Hong Kong University Shenzhen Hospital doesn’t have one since they are using a new medical model or better known as general clinics. But a lot of patients are saying that it was inconvenient for the Shenzhen People’s Hospital to close its simple clinic since its one of the largest and busiest hospital in the city.
One patient said that even if he has medical insurance he only paid 1 yuan cash to register at a simple clinic to have his insulin shots, today he pays 18 yuan at a registration counter and wait in line more than an hour just to get his injections.
The hospital management center said that due to safety concerns they decided to close down these simple clinics. When they first opened these simple clinics they hoped that it will treat people with minor diseases faster and easier. But they soon found out that most of the patient’s conditions changes fast and by giving them simple medication can cause medical disputes. Some hospitals even found out that some patients suffering from chronic diseases get medication at this clinics without even consulting a doctor.
