District to Turn Hill into a Cluster of Private Museums
Once a large hill, Antuoshan was slowly lost due to massive land quarrying and to residential housing construction will now be transformed into a cluster of private collection museums. Futian district is said aside a budget of 770 million yuan to transform the place.
Antuoshan is bordered by Beihuan Boulevard in the north and Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park in the south. Now on its first stage the district will be building around 30 private museums which will cover 40,000 square meters. These museums will feature collections ranging from paintings, jadeware, ancient potteries, coins, film themed articles and calligraphy.
Plans for construction has not yet been finalized and an international bid invitation for the designs have started and attracted design proposals from 23 design institutions locally and abroad and bidding results will be announced in mid-October. The park’s second stage will include a national design museum, a city nature museum and city art museum.
