Telemedicince Treatment Center to Provide High End Pathological Treatment Services
The Shenzhen branch of a national telemedicine treatment center is set to open in the city before the year ends. The center provides high end pathological treatment services to patients that will receive inputs through a telemedicine system from international and domestic doctors.
The 11 city level public hospitals are the first members of local center’s office and the telemedicine treatment center will be connected with the national center. This will be the first center of its kind in Guangdong and is said to cost almost 10 million yuan and is expected to be a solution to the city’s lack of high level medical experts.
A health official said that opening a treatment center is a step towards clinical treatment and its platform can provide a unified standard for doctors. The city is experiencing a shortage of doctors especially in the fields of pathology which is desperately in need of development. The Ministry of Health set standards in 2009 that required at least two pathologists an two pathology technicians for every 100 beds.
Opening the center will assist doctors in different hospitals since they can now share sources in local hospitals but from top hospitals in the country and around the world as well. The hospitals can send in digital pictures of samples taken from patients to the center wherein domestic and international experts can analyze, consult and give diagnosis.
