Shenzhen Starts 60 Large Scale Projects during the Month of September
For the month of September Shenzhen started around 60 large scale projects having a total investment of more than 40 billion yuan. Most of the projects that the city started involved construction of new industries, urban rejuvenation and infrastructure and improvements in the quality of life.
A total of nine projects in the new industry category included the finance and modern service industries base in Pinghu Subdistrict in Longgang and the Liuxiandong base for strategic and emerging industries in Xili in Nanshan. All nine projects costs around 19 billion yuan while urban rejuvenation involves the upgrade and renovation of the Dachong Village in Nanshan and the infrastructure projects involved the treatment of Longgang River.
Ten livelihood projects were also part of the projects and accounted for 700 million yuan which include the expansion of the Shenzhen No. 2 Vocational School of Technology, the relocation of the Nanshan Women and Children’s Health care Hospital and the construction of Nanhai Middle School.
According to the project administrators Liuxiangdong is set to be one of five headquarters bases of the city and nine industrial bases for its emerging industries and is expected to generate an annual output of 30 to 47 billion yuan and will create more than 27,000 jobs in the city when it opens in 2019. For the first eight months of this year the city was able to complete several fixed assets investments totaling 140 billion yuan an increase of 12 percent compared to the same period last year.
