Users can Now Book 4G Phones from China Mobile
China Mobile recently announced that users can now book smart phones that are based on its 4G network. The announcement marks the debut of the fastest mobile service in China after debates and government briefing that indicated the availability of the technology by the end of this year.
The 4G service will start in Guangzhou and in Shenzhen and before the year ends the service will be expanded to other areas in the country. China Mobile is the country’s largest mobile carrier in the country.
Customers interested in the 4G services must first change their phones to units that can support the 4g network, and then they can start using its services by the end of October. 4G network is a much faster and stable service compared to 3G and service fees will be lowered in the future as the service develops. As of the moment China Mobile is doing trials of its homegrown TD-LTE 4G network in several mainland cities and in Hong Kong since the last quarter of 2012.
China Unicom also one of the mobile giants in the country is also developing its TDD-LTE 4G network with China Telecom following soon. Both companies were reluctant to enter the 4G markets since the 3G services have yet to be saturated.
