The Voice of China Rated as Most Successful Foreign Television Program in China
The voice of China recently ended its second season declaring 23 year old Li Qi its winner. Qi might not look like a star but has strong charisma in which he have touched the hearts of viewers with his affectionate and unpretentious singing style. During the competition Qi have criticism but still was able to win due to his crowd pleasing voice.
The Voice of China is undoubtedly the first successful foreign television program in China, and is still continuing to strengthen local television stations to look into foreign format of programming especially talent shows. Now a trend is being seen in importing foreign formats in second tiered satellite channels but are held back by government restrictions. But some are saying that any other foreign formats cannot compare to the Voice success as other talent shows are shifting its attention to entertainment.
The Voice of China boasted of having a top of the line sound system to ensure a high quality sound and contestants are being judged by four A-list singers namely Wang Feng, A-Mei, Harlem Yu and Na Ying. The programs musical directors traveled to different provincial capitals, music schools and subs to search for talents and qualified singers. Their voices are then recorded and those chosen are placed on auditions before appearing on television.
This tough selection process is one of the reasons that helped the Voice standout from other talents shows in China.
