Want to Hear a Joke About Pizza?

Never mind…it’s too cheesy!

It’s early afternoon on Sunday and I’ve had a very, very long weekend (that lame joke is proof). With the last remnants of a headache and a rumbling, empty stomach, I decide it’s time to leave my apartment and make a move. It’s time to eat and re-energize!

I make my way to Peninsula Phase 2, where DaVinci’s Pizza is tucked away, a small gem of a pizza place, hidden from the hustle and bustle of the main street. Sitting outside at the red & white-checkered tables, I enjoy the warm breeze that seems to be ever-present here, as I watch the families and couples pass by. The scent of baking dough and cooking pizza wafts out the doors, exciting my senses, and my stomach rumbles again in anticipation.

I’ve had several of DaVinci’s menu items and can’t seem to get enough of the pizza, no matter what day (or time!) it is. Numerous combinations of toppings keep this menu from ever being boring, and I challenge myself to try a new pizza each time. These thin-crust options include the more adventurous Blue Cheese Beef or delicious Mexicana Chicken (love the guacamole!), to the basics such as Three Cheese Special and the veggie-covered Vegetarian Classic. Pizzas are large enough to satisfy two (or one ravenous individual!) and with so many toppings and options, prices are reasonable, ranging from ¥85-110.

For those times where I’m feeling like something other than pizza, I turn to the new Stromboli’s (the Ricotta & Spinach is an excellent combo!) or the classic Italian Ciabatta sandwiches. And just to balance out my meal and to ensure I get my daily serving of veggies, the house salad is a winner with fresh, seasonal ingredients and a light topping of lemon-flavoured salad dressing.

For those who wish to enjoy these delicious eats in the comfort of their own homes, da Vinci’s offers a super easy online ordering system. No need to talk to anyone – just fill in your address and start clicking. Delivery fee is only ¥5-7 and food is delivered quickly and at just the right temperature, almost as if it’s fresh from the oven in your own kitchen!
