Police to Increase Monitoring on High Traffic AreasThe city traffic police is planning to adopt a new zero tolerance policy for vehicles and pedestrians caught violating on 20 of the high traffic sections and on 10 congested areas. Along with the new policy traffic police will be improving visibility on these identified roads by upgrading monitoring lights, plate recognition system and traffic lights.

Identified spots in Futian are Shennan Road and Sungang Road, while Shennan Road East in Luohu will get increased monitoring. Meanwhile in Nanshan high traffic spots included in the monitoring are Shennan Boulevard, Binhai Boulevard. Other additional spots included in the monitoring are Renmin Road, Bao’an Boulevard, Longgang Boulevard, Guangming Street, Jianshe Road, Pinxi Road, Meilong Road and roads on Guangzhou-Shenzhen expressways.

The increase in monitoring is part of the traffic police’s efforts in reducing violations, accidents and traffic congestions in these high traffic areas. Traffic police will not hesitate in punishing driver and pedestrians that are caught doing violations ranging from illegally changing lanes, drunk driving and running red lights.
