Conference to Promote Post-Doctorate Work Stations to Attract Foreign Professionals
During this year’s Conference on International Exchange of Professional at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center will have post doctorate work stations to offer around 150 recently vacated positions in hopes to attract educated professionals that are looking for work. These will be the first time these local work stations have openly participated in the conference that shows the country’s achievements to attract foreign talents.
These work stations are playing an important role in the attraction and cultivation of professionals in the fields of technology. First established in 1995, around 85 of these work stations are located in the city and 95 of these are innovation bases that are recognized and ranked top among Chinese cities. Workers on these stations are usually working on research in the internet, bio-technology, telecommunications, medical machinery, new energy and material industries.
Compared to other cities with work stations at universities, work stations in Shenzhen are found at enterprises wherein researchers directly address the needs of the market. And since more overseas researchers are joining these work stations they are becoming more internationalized. Since 2001, the city has been offering post doctorate professionals subsidies of 80,000 to 160,000 yuan per year and enterprises and research stations that houses these professionals can get subsidies of 500,000 with an additional 30,000 yuan for every professional that they recruit.
