Baidu to Increase Mobility by Increasing Transition to Mobile Devices
China’s popular internet search engine Baidu Inc. is planning to increase its mobility by increasing its transition to mobile devices by buying companies that will assist in the transition. The company recently bought California based TrustGo Mobile Inc earlier this year for its personal privacy protection and security technology.
This purchase is part of the company plans to further involve itself in the mobile push technology to attract more than 400 million people in the country who uses their mobile smart phones and tablet computers in accessing the internet. The company is also continuing its investment in the mobile search after its net income have increased 1.3 percent in the third quarter as sales reached more than 8 billion yuan. Baidu is also setting its eyes on expansion to other countries in hopes to boost their market share in Egypt, Brazil and Thailand.
The company didn’t include the US in its expansion program as they believe that market in the US is different from other developing countries.
