Shenzhen Schools to Recommend Students to Beijing Universities
Three schools in Shenzhen is planning to recommend around 10 students to Tsinghua University and Peking University in Beijing starting next year. The three schools are Shenzhen Foreign Language School, Bao’an Middle School and Shenzhen Middle School. The schools will be announcing their recommendation to the students and these students can apply for the interviews voluntarily.
The Shenzhen Foreign Languages School will be recommending only one student to Peking University and two students to Tsinghua University. The Shenzhen Middle School will be recommending two students to Tsinghua University and four to Peking University and the selection of students will be done through oral examination. Students planning to join the oral examination must have a grade point average of not less than 4.4 in ranking in the top 5 percent among their class
These interviews will evaluate a student’s abilities in the fields of innovation, expression, ideation, and response. The results will account for 25 percent of their final score. A recommendation committee along with a principal will be the ones to give the students their final scores after evaluating GPAs, public opinion and school performance.
Science students that meets the requirements of the university’s recommendation and ranks first among the top 1 percent of their senior class can also apply for examination.
