Country to Open Up Energy Sector to Foreign and Private InvestorsChina is inviting foreign and private investment as the country opens its environment protection and energy conservation industries. During a meeting remarks made by Premier Li Keqiang signals that the country is ready in the approach to the clean energy sector.

Li said that foreign members of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development are willing to work together with the international community in hopes to strengthen further the technology and other forms of cooperation that is said to help in improving the environment. Li said that the move will encourage private capital to invest as the country opens up more ways for them to invest. As of the moment foreign companies are allowed to invest in the manufacturing of equipment but are limited in investments in clean energy projects.
