Developing Eco-City to Offer Family Medical Services to Residents
Residents of a developing eco-city in Tianjin have opened a family doctor services as part of their effort to create a Singaporean style of community in northern china. Doctors will be assigned to look after 500 households and each of the resident’s health records will be electronically monitored.
The medical service is part of a developmental plan to build a eco conscious community with green energy buses, a recycling center for garbage and apartments with energy conservations systems. The eco city will act as the model city for develop eco-friendly Chinese cities which was created and developed by the Singaporean and Chinese government. Covering an area of 30 square kilometers that eco city is built on a deserted beach and water areas already attracted 2,000 households to move in and more will be coming as more infrastructures is added.
Construction for the eco city started in 2007, was modeled after a Singaporean practice of a neighborhood center that handles grassroots and at the same time enrich the functions of a community in terms of management, culture, sports, healthcare and business. The eco city will also have two rail lines to promote the use of public transportation among its residents.
