Airport to Add More Flight Paths to Relieve Air Traffic Congestion
Two new flight paths for planes will be added to the Shenzhen airspace once the Shenzhen International Airport will open its new terminal and will hopefully improve the flights punctuality. Around eighty three percent of airline flights are using the airport in Shenzhen that flies the north to south paths. The new path will give more options and will increase the number of paths from nine to eleven or five flights for arrivals and six flights for departures.
The city was previously challenged with the congestion in air traffic and by adding these new flight paths will be improving efficiency and runway capacity to its fullest. International flights are less than 5 percent but are expected to increase as new international routes will be introduced in the spring season.
During the rehearsals that was held prior to the opening of the new terminal more than a thousand problems are seen and has been resolved and checked and is now ready for the terminal’s opening. Airlines such China Southern and Shenzhen Airlines are planning to add more international flights routes to other Southeast Asian countries. The airlines will also be adding domestic flights to cities such as Lhasa in Tibet, Kashgar in Xinjiang and Tengchong in Yunnan.
