More Chinese Students Vying to Enter U.S. UniversitiesU.S. universities are seeing an increase in the number of Chinese students and their families are spending in the quest of getting an American education in their hopes to open doors to better careers and social success. Some think that having an overseas education will give their child a way to avoid the national college entrance examination or gaokao.

Children are stressed into getting into Chinese universities, but getting jobs and with other graduates competing is also causing stress as the second biggest economy in the world is slowing down. Each year around 7 million Chinese students are graduating from universities which are a new record.

To be qualified to enter U.S. universities students must pass the test that are required by the universities such as the TOEFL a English language test and SAT. during the 2011/2012 academic year more than 200,000 Chinese students studied at U.S. universities, double that the number of students from India who are the second largest number of overseas students.
