China Mobile Offers Free Upgrades on iPhones Purchased in Hong Kong
China mobile has started providing 4G services to its iPhone 5 smart phone users who bought their units from Hong Kong. The 4G services came two week after it started in Guangzhou. Staff from a local China Mobile outlet said that the upgrade service is free of charge and users don’t need to change their numbers and the upgrades takes less the 20 minutes to do.
Although no news yet on when China Mobile will be selling the iPhone 5S and 5C at their local outlets plus the upgrade are only applicable to those units that were bought in Hong Kong.
The 4G services of China Mobile has been running under a trial basis in Shenzhen for quite some time now, and to use the 4 G services people need to purchase a designated phone in which China Mobile implement monthly charges with the cheapest rate is at 50 yuan. The free upgrade will increase the popularity of the Apple’s latest smart phones that are sold in Hong Kong.
