New Rail Line to Shorten Trip Between Two Cities
A new high speed rail line that is set to open by the end of next month will be shortening travel time from Shenzhen to Xiamen to around three hours and forty five minutes based on the service released by the railway authorities. Rumors say that the line is scheduled to be operational by December 26 as the railway will be using the new strain schedules nationwide.
There will be four trains traveling from Shenzhen North Railway Station to Xiamen North Station. As of the moment trips between the two cities takes around 11 hours. The first trip will depart Shenzhen at 10:20 am and the last train will leave at 5:20 pm. Prices for first class seats is 190 yuan, second class tickets costs 160 yuan.
There will be four trains a day will travel from Shenzhen North Railway Station to Xiamen North Station, two trains in the morning and two in the afternoon. A total of 34 trains will be running on the railways with three trains initially start traveling at 300 lm per hour.
The 502 kilometer Shenzhen-Xiamen line will be linking two of the country’s economic zones and will create a important section in the coastal railway artery. The rail line will run through 20 stations in eight cities.
