Designers Urged for the Creation of a Stronger Property Rights Protection
Italian designer Stefanno Giovannoni said during the first China Industrial Design Fair that ended a few days ago that China should have more measures to protect intellectual property rights that will create a good environment for local and international designers. Giovannoni said that a real design context must be emphasized intellectual property first since it’s the most important aspect in all activities that is related to design and must be managed properly based on international laws in China.
The Italian designer’s concerns is shared by the chairman for the Shenzhen Industrial Design Profession Association Liu Zhixiong and along with the president of the 3nod Digital Group agreed on the lack of protection for intellectual property rights is creating problems on the growth if the industrial designers, by tightening the protection of intellectual property rights will further boost the confidence of these designers and the government must make stringent efforts to fight piracy and give support to intellectual property rights using legal channels.
The design competition has created and is open to all designers as a way to help young and talented designers without any experience in developing their craft and transforms their products or don’t know how to combine the designs with products. The industrial design industry has seen the rapid growth in the past years and a lot of foreign designers that attended the fair were amazed on the achievement that the country achieved in industrial design.
