New High Speed Railway to Open this December
The Xiamen Shenzhen High Speed Railway that links the three special economic zones is said to shorten travel time between the two cities in under four hours is set to open by December 28.although the Guangzhou Railway Group has not confirm the date a anonymous employee said that initial plans is calling for the railway to open on the said date.
Trial runs have clocked travel time between Shenzhen and Xiamen to 3 hours and 45 minutes and once open the railway will be allotting four trains traveling. Current travel time between the two cities is at eight hours. The line will also open up the city access to shanghai and other destinations with four pairs of trains that runs between Shenzhen and Shanghai daily.
The new line will also from another important link to China’s coastal railway artery and will pass through 20 stations in eight cities with thirteen of these stations located in Guangdong. This will be also the longest and last railway section found in China’s Southeast Coast High Speed Railway Corridor.
