City in Need of More Medical Professionals
A rapid increase in home prices, stressful work environment along with the lack of high level medical research institutions is placing a dent in the city’s ability in attracting medical professionals to come and work in the city.
During recruitment fair last week that was simultaneously held across nine cities and was said to be the largest medical job fair which offered more than a thousand available job vacancies. The fair only received a total of 1,099 applications this including applications that were made on site and online. Professionals said that the situation only shows how the city is in dire need for more incentive attracting policies that will entice medical professionals to come and work at hospitals, medical facilities and clinics ad demand for more workers is expected to increase in the coming years.
Although it’s easy to hire college graduates in the medical field that city is in need of high level professionals that came from prestigious colleges who studied in the fields of pedology, gynecology, radiology, oncology, maternity and pathology. Based on the city 12th five year plan stated that the city needs to recruit at least 4,000 resident physicians by 2015 but as of today was only able to recruit around 1,608 physicians.
Several district hospitals is now looking at hiring doctors coming from second and third tiered hospitals but still needs more high level professional medical workers to fill the needs of the city.
