Government to Release Plans in Pushing Through with Urbanization
The Central Government released the much awaited plans of pushing forward urbanization which experts considered as the centerpiece of the nation’s effort in releasing domestic demand and reduces urban rural disparities.
Considered as the first step the restrictions will be under the household registration system better known as hukou is removed in the small cities and townships the gradually introduced in medium sized cities making it easier for migrant workers to get urban resident status. Urbanization is the path the country to achieve its modernization drive and the policy will provide the means of addressing rural issues and carries a practical significance in their pursuit of modernity.
The plans of pushing urbanization is also the reaffirmation of the country willingness to go through the urbanization drive as their top priority in the policy making for the Central Government in the next ten years, the Central Government sees urbanization as the key move in their effort of moving economy away from the reliance of the credit and export driven growth to give more emphasis on domestic consumption.
Also by relaxing hukou registrations the country hopes to set a reasonable condition that will be used in settling in large cities while controlling the population in mega cities. Hukou has long been said to cause inequality and barrier for consumptions as the hukou system prevent migrant workers from getting the same social services with those holding urban hukou.
