City to Experience Cold Weather until the Weekend
Shenzhen will be experiencing cold and wet weather today and will continue until the weekend as the Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory have used a yellow level warning for cold weather as temperature drops down to 9 degrees Celsius. The city also recorded its heaviest rainfall yesterday with 76 millimeters of rainfall recorded in Pinghu in Longgang and it was also the heaviest rainfall that happened in December since 2001.
Periods of sun might return by Thursday but temperature will remain low with a record temperature of 10 degrees Celsius. The cold weather is due to the cold front coming from the north and warm front from the south. Some parts of the city will be experiencing heavy rain and temperature from 10 to 12 degrees until the weekend.
Residents are constantly reminded to wear warm clothing and to ensure that water heaters are near ventilation to prevent any carbon monoxide poisoning when taking showers. Central parts of the city seen the heaviest rainfall after yesterday’s storm which provided relief from the haze that the city was experiencing for the past two weeks and the meteorological observatory was already canceled the haze warning and environmental authorities has canceled the yellow level air quality warning as well.
