Lunar Mission Delcared a Success as Rover Sent Back Pictures of the Moon Landing
China’s lunar mission was a complete success after its first lunar moon and the lander took photos of the lunar surface. Both machines had a one minute photo session of each other a day after its first soft landing on the moon which showed both the lander and the jade rabbit were fully functional and the photograph marks the success of the soft landing and patrol situation.
Chief Commander for the lunar program Ma Xingrui declared the success of the Chang’e-3 mission, President Xi Jinping and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang were present at the Beijing Aerospace Control Center when the announcement was made. The lunar probe success marked as the milestone of the development of the space program of china and the glory of the Chinese people in their exploration in the frontier of science and technology and the contribution of the nation to the peaceful use of outer space.
The photo shoot started at 11:42 pm on a Sunday after the six wheeled moon rover moved to a designated spot 9 meters north of the lander. The colored images were transmitted live using a deep space network that was designed by China which also featured the Chinese national flag on the moon rover. This was the first time the Chinese flag was photograph on a planet. After taking photographs the moon rover and lander went on to do their tasks and in a few days both will be taking another set of photos of each other in a different angle.
The moon rover will be surveying the geological structure of the moon along with its surface substances and will be searching for natural resources while the lander will conduct an in situation exploration of the landing site.
