Postal Administration to Create a Safety Monitoring Center
The Shenzhen postal administration will be creating a safety monitoring center to better supervise the local express delivery industry. Based on the new city regulations that monitoring center will help boost the industry. Public consultation on the regulation is completed and the regulations requires express delivery companies in Shenzhen to conduct a 24 hour monitoring of their operation venues from collection, transportation, sorting and delivery of express packages.
The monitoring system for these express delivery companies communicates with the monitoring station and all data collected are required to be kept for 30 days to prevent loss and damage of the packages. Also these express delivery companies are asked to be equipped with a safety inspection facility that meets the national standards. Companies who fail to properly inspect packages that they collect will be fined 3,000 to 30,000 yuan.
A local express delivery company had its business license recently revoked because of a liability for a chemical leak that contaminated other packages which led to the postal administration to tighten supervision of these express delivery companies in the city. The postal administration will conduct safety checks further of the key express delivery companies.
