Taxi Call Center App Needs further Upgrading
The software application that the city transport commission services for their taxi call center is being criticized for being delayed and troublesome to use by several of the residents. Residents complain that the software options can only be used by Android users and Apple users are only able to use only one piece of its software. When a passenger inputs his information on a call to a taxi he needs to wait at least 20 minutes for the information to be processed. Other passengers have also complained on the same experience with the app. Others were able to make reservations and were picked up after five minutes after the confirmation was sent. Those who don’t have any smart phones can also make taxi reservations online through its website. The online reservations will need a personal information registration then a verification link will be sent to the provided email address to finish the process. But several residents are unable to register since they didn’t receive any link that will allow them to verify their registration.
Other residents are also questioning the 2 yuan fee that is charged by drivers which is shared by the call service center. Some residents call the fee a way to increase the fare without the knowledge of the passengers since the call center have improved the efficiency of the cab drivers in bringing businesses since the cost is borne by passengers.
Several taxi drivers are saying that the surcharge can bring in additional income to them, but if the passengers are not willing to pay the 2 yuan fee, drivers cannot force them. Some passengers agree with the 2 yuan surcharge as some drivers drive to their place to wait and pick them up and usually the cost of fuel in picking them up is always more than 2 yuan.
