Geopark to Offer Bus Services to Transportation Hub
The Dapeng New Area is opening a new shuttle bus route that will connect the Xinda transportation hub to the Dapeng Peninsula GeoPark as part of their efforts in solving parking difficulties. The new geopark opened its doors in December and has attracted a large crowd of visitors who complained of parking difficulties,
So far the park has no parking facilities and visitors need to leave their vehicles at a parking lit 400 meters away from the main gate. The said parking lot can hold around 200 vehicles. Park managers are advising visitors to park at Xinda then take a shuttle bus to the park, but it was still unclear on whether the shuttle service will be offered free for the geopark visitors. Furthermore traffic police will be dispatching officers to the park to help direct traffic especially during the holidays.
.last weekend an estimated 7,000 visitors came to visit the park which in turn created parking difficulties and only one park employee was assigned to maintain the order at the parking lot. Several vehicles were parked unequally which in turn occupied too much space. And a lot of impatient drivers keep honking their horns as they waited in ling queues to enter the parking lot.
The park covers nearly 51 square kilometers with 68 kilometers of coastline, te park features volcanic rocks which was formed more than 135 million years ago.
