China has Highest Number of Outbound Tourists
Based on a report that was released a few days ago China has the highest number of outbound tourists and the amount of overseas spending globally last year. Around ninety seven million Chinese nationals have traveled abroad in 2013 beating the 2012 mark by around 14 million. And according to the China National Tourism Administration the number is expected to surpass 100 million.
The report which was released by the Tourist Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences stated that Chinese tourists have the strongest purchasing power since 2012 overtaking Germans and US tourists as the top spending travelers in 2012 after spending more than $102 billion overseas a 40 percent increase from 2011. The 2013 figures of overseas spending is still to be released by there is definitely a new record created by Chinese tourists. Since Chinese tourists have been spending too much abroad they have been called the walking wallets by foreigners. Analysts said that tourists have spent an average of $7,000 per person on their trips to the US in 2011.
The increase in spending and traveling by Chinese tourists led to more travel service providers on foreign countries to adjust the business plans. Hotels have started to create new services that are design especially for Chinese tourists. Other hotels have localized their brands in China by renaming their hotels or designing new hotels and resorts in China.
The director of the World Tourism Cities Federation said that Chinese tourists should pay more attention to their behavior and must respect local customs to the country their traveling too. Tourism in China has also grown over the past year as the country has seem more than 3 billion surpassing the 2012 mark by 300 million.
